March Skincare Favourites
As always I've been dipping my paws into all sorts of brands this month trialing out new skincare bits to recommend to you guys, I blab on about skincare ALOT on my blog and so typing up this post is a real heart warmer for me, girls if you're still using make-up wipes, it's time to pick up the Konjac Sponge and a decent cleanser because I'll be having none of it! If you are still not sold here's a reason to stop using them..
Why are makeup wipes so bad for you?
Most wipes are saturated with chemicals that allow for easy removal of makeup, which means they can leave chemical residue on the skin and if used incorrectly, they can smear makeup into the skin instead of removing the particles completely. Plus, if they contain alcohol, they can be irritating and dry you out.
Bottom line: If you're going to use makeup remover wipes, you must remember to rinse your face with a gentle cleanser and water afterwards every time.
With that being said, I've pulled together x5 of my favourite products this month, I have dry to combination skin so please try them out first or collect a sample from a store to test them on your skin because different skin types will react in different ways.
Samaya is a beautiful brand I recently discovered at the Blogosphere blogger event, if you are a blogger and you are reading this make sure you subscribe to the Blogosphere Magazine & attend their events to discover amazing brands like Samaya. Samaya skincare is an all natural skincare based on the belief we should all aim to achieve a 'perfect balance' or a 'Samadosha'. This beautiful cleanser is made up of botanicals such as Rose, Turmeric, Tulsi, Gotu Kola and Ashwagandha. One of the first things I noticed about this cleanser was the exquisite packaging, you feel like you've really gifted yourself when it arrives in the post, it has the most luxurious feel about it. I fell in love with this cleanser as soon as it touched my skin, it melts off eye makeup in an instant and helps lift impurities, leaving my skin feeling balanced, purified, softer and more radiant. I use my Konjac Sponge from my beauty box with this cleanser, the two are great together and I can really achieve that 'glow' after using it. The smell is also out of this world, you feel like you're in an exotic spa somewhere in Bali for a moment or two, before returning to earth and realising you're in your own bathroom..
Chantecaille Bamboo & Hibiscus Exfoliator Cream
If you have dry skin like myself, this cream exfoliator is an absolute dream. I often find with facial exfoliators they dry my skin out but this natural creamy Chantecaille exfoliator has crushed bamboo in it and nourishing ingredients to keep the skin moisturised and refreshed. I usually cleanse my makeup off, exfoliate and then cleanse again.
Chantecaille Rose Face Oil
If you are in need of a FAB night treatment for your skin, forget Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, this Chantecaille Face Rose Oil is the bee's knees. It's packed with nutrients from roses, which helps battle redness and inflamed areas. Rose is also extremely soothing for the skin so will help heal scars or marks on the skin. I wear this every other night as a night treatment, I always sleep so well after I use it as well! They have just brought out a gorgeous new Rose Body Oil as well if you need a good treatment for the body.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Night Cream
I've read a lot about the Magic Cream from Charlotte Tilbury, in fact the name is was what drew me in. The consistency is so unusual, but do not be alarmed, this stuff really works. I use this instead of my Chantecaille Rose Face Oil sometimes, but because it has a high concentrate of Retinol in, you have to be careful not to over use it though because if you give your skin too much retinol you can get small lumps under the skin! Retinol is a fantastic ingredient which helps reduce fine lines and resurface the skin so I was thrilled when I researched the ingredients to find out it had it in it.
Charlotte Tilbury Clay Mask
I am such a sucker for a clay mask, if your skin needs a good detox to strip away any excess oils or if you've had a breakout, this clay mask is a perfect Sunday night rescue product. You know that LBD you have in your wardrobe for emergencies, this is the LBD of my skincare, when in fear, grab a CT clay mask.
