Why Having Healthy Teeth Can Lead To Success | Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart
Whether you're going for a job interview or meeting someone for the first time, teeth are one of the first features people notice. A study in America stated that people with straight teeth are perceived as more successful, smarter & have more first dates. I had awful teeth when I was younger so I wore braces for 3 years and I wore blocks to help put my jaw into the correct position. I'm glad I got that out the way when I was younger so I could focus on other important things in my adulthood! There are 3 steps I action throughout the year in order to maintain a healthy smile, read on...
I've always used electric toothbrushes because my dentist urges me to choose an electric one over a manual one, this way I can reduce gum disease, plaque build up and cavities all of which I want to avoid. My mum without fail buys me an electric toothbrush every year for Christmas, but recently I've updated my electric toothbrush to the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart toothbrush. This toothbrush doesn't fall short of excellence. This is the 'Rolls-Royce' of all toothbrushes and I'm about to tell you why. This toothbrush is truly incredible and comes with many features, but one of the most impressive features is the coaching app.
Philips has designed an extremely clever app which can connect to your toothbrush and detect if you have missed any teeth while you are brushing. It can also tell you where you have plaque build-up, alert you to any bleeding areas and highlight any problems such as cavities in your mouth using the 'mouth map'. The app has a coaching service that helps to keep you on track with your oral health and care goals, including keeping count of how many times you use the toothbrush head and even alerts you when it's time to update you brush head. It's almost like having a personal teeth assistant to help you stay you on track. I like to use the app to time how long I brush my teeth; it recommends 2 minutes in the morning and 2 minutes in the evening, I really love it.
5 Cleaning Modes
The toothbrush has 5 cleaning modes which are easily changeable, these are clean, white, gum health, deep clean and tongue care. There's also a purple light at the base of the toothbrush which illuminates if you are brushing too hard. I noticed very quickly that I had been brushing too hard for quite some time!
USB Charging Travel Case
There's nothing more annoying than when you pack your electric toothbrush for your holiday or business trip only to find it’s out of battery. One of my favourite features about this toothbrush, being a travel blogger and all, is definitely the chargeable case it comes with. The case holds up to two brush heads and the main device itself and has a USB cable that can easily plug into your laptop while you travel.
x4 Brush Heads
When you buy the toothbrush it essentially comes with a kit that includes everything you need to get started. You get a glass holder, a mouth spray, a chargeable case and a selection of four toothbrush heads which all have different purposes to help you achieve best results. The four brush heads include one for 'Plaque Defence', 'Premium Gum Care' , 'Premium White' and 'Tongue Care'.
Brush Sensors & brush head recognition
And if all of that wasn't good enough? Philips has created 'brush recognition technology' whereby if you switch brush heads the toothbrush recognises the change and switches to the setting for that brush. For example, if I removed the Premium White brush and replaced it with my Tongue Care brush, the DiamondClean Smart toothbrush would automatically switch to 'tongue care' mode. Clever eh?
Regular Dental Appointments
I've only got good at this later in my twenties when I realised how important the health of your teeth is, this became apparent when my own mother was going through some painful procedures to correct the damage to her teeth that was done earlier on in her life. I see my dentist once a year for a check up and a hygiene appointment.
