The Afternoon Tea With A Twist

The other week I had the absolute pleasure of attending an exclusive afternoon tea at The Savoy Hotel in London. For those of you who don't know a lot about The Savoy, the hotel first opened its doors in 1889 and has catered for not only the Royal Family but some of the worlds biggest stars such as Marilyn Munroe, Frank Sinatra and wait for it..the babe that is Audrey Hepburn! The interior now is what I would class as 'Edwardian Chic' which happens to be very on trend this season (ha!).

The hotel is absolutely stunning and truly iconic. As I walked towards the entrance of the hotel, the bustling crowds were flooding out of the theatre directly next door with woman laced in beautiful gowns and men in tuxedos jumping into black cabs (not Ubers). I felt like I'd accidentally stepped into a time warp, there was something extremely magical and romantic about the whole thing.

This particular High Tea was in collaboration with Suzie Turner, a British Couturier since 1990. The Tea included a luxury fashion show inspired by 1950's fashion. The show was beautiful; we drank our gin infused cocktails and slowly worked our way down the cake stand enjoying every single bite. The tea comprised of 4 stages which was unusual but endearing. First we had cocktails & starters before we moved onto the lovely hand crafted cakes and pastries. The last of the courses were the Suzie Turner branded eclairs made by The Savoys Executive Pastry Chef, Ludwig Hely- exceptionally good!

The whole experience was impeccable, the settings, the service, the staff and the most importantly the food was 10/10. I strongly recommend booking this, it by far topped any Afternoon Tea I've been too so far in London!

The Suzie Turner Afternoon Tea will be held on the first Wednesday of every month so be sure to book your slot, the next one is on the 2nd November- don't miss out on this unforgettable experience!
