Afternoon Tea | The Lanesborough Hotel
I do love Afternoon Tea in London– There's something decadent about working through the layers with copious cups of tea, wiling away an afternoon. So, a couple of days ago we headed down to The Lanesborough Hotel in Belgravia. Funny enough, I've been to The Lanesborough before last year, for the Beauty & The Beast beauty box launch, I vividly remember it's luxurious historical interior through out the hotel.
The Afternoon Tea itself is one of the most decadent I've ever tried – at £48pp I would say it sits comfortably within its price range for a luxury Belgravia hotel. I was eager to see if it would live up to it’s competitors, as I am an Afternoon Tea addict and have tried many places before.
The Lanesborough Afternoon Tea consisted of: a selection of gorgeous finger sandwiches, the smoked salmon and egg cress was my personal favourite, although the coronation chicken was also a hit. After we devoured two servings of sandwiches we moved onto the desserts. The desserts included freshly made scones with homemade jam & clotted cream all topped off with a selection of mini cakes and accompanied by a refillable pot of tea of your choice. I had the Chocolate Tea which was surprisingly yummy, with milk it tasted like a healthy hot chocolate!
You can also have the Champagne Afternoon Tea for £58. My friend Sophie is gluten free so she had the GF option and she said her sandwiches were one of the best she's ever had! Now for those who are not gluten free, this won't apply to you but for my gluten free ladies- this is a great gluten free Afternoon Tea spot in London! The sandwiches were so good we had two servings, but the cakes were where things got good. The cakes were like little pieces of art on a plate, the praline profiterole was my favourite- I could of eaten x5 of those.
Overall I would recommend the Afternoon Tea at The Lanesborough, the food was great and the surroundings, we also throughly enjoyed the music they played. If you go you must try the chocolate tea they do!
