The JW Marriott Marquis Miami Review
If you haven't been to Miami yet, go. I got back from the holiday of a lifetime a few weeks ago, it was absolute heaven and I would definitely go back! I don't think I've ever gone on holiday and had the urge to go back so quickly, which is a huge deal for me. I fell in love with the city instantly. I had the absolute pleasure of staying with The JW Marriott Marquis out there for a week and I have to say I had the most incredible stay I've ever had with a hotel..to date, so I wanted to share it with you guys as I would 100% recommend staying here if you ever visit Miami and fancy a bit of luxury... after all it's your holidays right?
The Hotel Facilities
I'm not going to lie, we didn't leave the hotel for the first 2 days because we loved it so much. The hotel consisted of a rooftop pool, 2 beautiful award winning restaurants called Db Bistro Moderne, a virtual bowling alley and golf studio, a lovely spa and best of all an amazing gym with the best views of Miami! I found myself in the gym most mornings because of my jetlag, but it was such a nice gym I really didn't mind going and I felt great for it. There was also a 'concierge lounge' which served breakfast every morning with the most amazing views of Miami!
The staff were wonderful throughout the whole trip and were very attentive. The concierge lady was so nice, she made us feel right at home as soon as we got there and recommended some close by restaurants and places to check out, we really felt like we had someone in the hotel we could trust if we ever needed anything.
The room was fabulous, very spacious and bright, the toilet (all made of marble) was great, we had a double sink mirror, a huge bath a lovely shower with strong running water and some lovely Aromatherapy Associates beauty products dotted around everywhere, we felt right at home. The bathroom even has a TV built into the sink, so when you had a bath you could relax and watch the TV... makes a change from when I bring my laptop into the bathroom at home in England!
The pool was on the 19th floor, just high enough to see the whole of Miami. There were two four poster double beds to lounge on round the pool, the pool itself was beautiful and had a stunning reflective floor, making some great 'instagram shots' for myself and Laura.
The Room Service
We ordered room service a couple of times through the week (it's one of my guilty pleasures actually). The food was impeccable, it literally felt like they brought the restaurant to your bedside, everything from the plates to the cutlery were up to scratch, it by no means felt like you were getting a 'take out'. The food was also piping hot, something you often find slacks when it comes to room service, but not in this case.
We had the pleasure of dining a Db Bistro Moderne on the Thursday evening on our week which we were very much looking forward too. I have to say, it was the best customer service I have EVER received in all my life. The manager spent a lot of time going through the wines and the menu with us, I casually threw out 'we want everything on the menu!' and before we knew it he whisked away the menus and said 'leave it with me' and literally granted us an 8 course tasting menu of majority of the menu! It was honestly one of the best experiences I have ever had in a restaurant, we felt like we were treated like royalty.
The city itself is really quiet something, imagine clean high skyscrapers juxtaposed with palm trees and long stretches of sand. The music culture is huge there which is wonderful, every time you turn a street corner you can hear music playing, or bustling restaurants full of people, the city feels alive. On the first evening there was a hip hop festival playing not too far from our hotel, you could literally hear the music for miles, it was amazing, noisy, but amazing, our hotel room view looked right over it.
